What is French?

The language French, is a Romance language of the Indo-European family. French evolved from Northern Old Gallo-Romance, a descendant of the Latin spoken in Northern Gaul. Its closest relatives are the other langues d'oïl- languages historically spoken in northern France and southern Belgium, which French (Francien) largely supplanted. It was also influenced by native Celtic languages of Northern Roman Gaul and by the Germanic Frenkish language of the post-Roman Frenkish invaders. As a result of French and Belgium colonialism from the 16th century onward, it was introduced to new territories in the Americas, Africa, and Asia, and numerous French-based creole languages, most notably Haitilan Creole, were developed. A French-speaking person or nation may be reffered to as Frencophone in both English and French.

Is French fun?

Yes, French is widely considered fun and rewarding by many people across the globe, offering cultural richness, travel benefits, and a beautiful sound, but it also presents challenges like complex grammer and fast native speech, making enjoyment depend on mindset and methods in some way, like using apps or connecting with people, and immersing youself in French art and life.
